A Home for Learning & Arts in the Heart of Mazatlán

HoLA Maz began with a simple question:

What if there were a place in Mazatlán where curious people could gather to learn, create, perform, play and connect?

Not a bar.
Not a school.
Not a private club.

Something warmer, more flexible and built around community.

HoLA stands for Home of Learning & Arts—and that is exactly what we aim to be.

Why HoLA Exists

Mazatlán is full of remarkable people: artists and musicians, writers and teachers, longtime residents and newcomers, Spanish speakers and English speakers, people with decades of experience and people eager to try something new.

HoLA creates a place where those worlds can meet.

We believe lifelong learning keeps us vibrant, the arts bring people together, conversation matters, and community is something we build together.

What Happens at HoLA

Depending on the day, you might find:

  • Art, craft and sewing workshops
  • Films, talks and live performances
  • Movement and wellness classes
  • Games and informal social gatherings
  • Cultural and food-focused events
  • Language, practical-skills and lifelong-learning programs

Some activities are structured. Others are simply opportunities to spend time with people. All are designed to be welcoming.

How HoLA Works

HoLA is community-led, volunteer-powered, and supported by memberships, event income and donations. We are pursuing our official non-profit status.

That support helps us keep programming affordable, compensate instructors and performers, care for our physical space, and build something sustainable for Mazatlán.

You do not need to be a member to attend most HoLA events. Members pay less while helping make everything we do possible.
